This past weekend, we took a snowboarding trip with some friends in Winter Park, Colorado. We were lucky enough to get some excellent snow and some great sunshine.
Let me know what you think.

We were out on a visit to Governors Island in New York in July and everyone was kind enough to sit still long enough for this shot. There was an art display built up along the lawn that made this photo fun to play with.
It’s cold and rainy here this week so I needed something to make me think of warmer temperatures…

One of the few times in New York where you won’t find any people…so I took a picture. I liked the bench and the curved wall heading off into the distance.
We were in Big Trees National Park in Northern California a few years ago and we found this monstrous Redwood tree hollowed out. We barely came up to the midpoint of the tree in another photo. I really wanted to bring out the highlights of this so I used HDR to bring them into the light.
If you are curious about HDR, I recommend checking out Trey Ratcliff’s Stuck in Customs blog; there are fantastic tutorials there.

Yes, just a cart path. I was up at the Kohler Resort in Wisconsin and took a wander in the evening hoping to catch a nice sunset. Happened to come by the Blackwolf Run Golf Course in the evening and found this simple curved cart path. I love the top of the grass and how golden it was in contrast to the rough on the other side and it looked wonderful in the evening.
Hope you like it. Click on the image to see more golf photos.

A few years back, a few of us were able to watch a practice round for the Solheim Cup at Rich Harvest (Sugar Grove, IL). It was an absolutely beautiful day and we just walked around taking photos. The golfers for both the Europeans and the Americans were incredibly nice and had no issues with us taking photos while they played.
Here is an approach shot from one of the American women…

I took this photo several years ago…before I started getting into photography. Therefore, I think this shot is more luck than skill. We just loved all of the birds in the foreground and the church (I think…don’t remember what this building is) in the background with the beautiful sky.
Let me know what you think.
On our honeymoon, we spent some time in Playa del Carmen and found this dock as we walked along the beach one evening. By making this an HDR image, the wood grain just looked so much more dramatic. If only there wasn’t the yellow tape. I know…I just edit it in Photoshop, but that just feels like cheating. Maybe one day.
Do I leave the tape or edit it out?
On a nice walk in North Carolina (near Cary) around this pond. Across the pond is a nice outdoor music venue. The reflections looked wonderful in the water.
Hope you enjoy it…

In June, we spent some time in Central Park for a good friend’s 1 year old’s birthday. This was taken at the edge of the meadow…took a few photos and stitched them together and then brought it back into Lightroom. Part of me wanted to edit that building on the left since no one likes a building under construction in their photos. However, that building would have a crane hanging off of it a few months later during some silly hurricane named Sandy.
Hope you like it.
